Those of us fortunate enough to live in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina
are quick to realize how blessed we are. With clean air, misty mornings, warm sun
kissed summer days and cool crisp nights, the Great Smoky Mountains are not only an
ideal place to live but also an ideal place to raise grapes. We at Eagle Fork Vineyards,
have taken this wonderful environment one step further. If you visit our winery early
in the morning and stand along the cold rushing mountain stream that borders our
vineyard, you will hear the delicate soft sound of classical music that wake our grapes
each and every new day. Come sit on the outdoor pavilion of our tasting room and
enjoy the breathtaking views and fresh mountain air while trying our fine hand crafted
wine!
12 Spies Vineyards is tucked between the North East Mountains to the west and the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest to the east. The sunsets are spectacular and views from the vineyard are stunning. There are many gardens filled with gourds, pumpkins, flowers and vegetables scattered around the 9 acre property. Bring your camera and enjoy a glass of wine from the covered deck or take a relaxing walk.
The four varities of grapes grown in the 12 Spies vineyard are Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Tannat and Traminette. All of these grapes grow well in the climate and altitude of Rabun Gap, Georgia. In addition, 12 Spies searches for grapes from the best vineyards for blending and to make their Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Seyval Blanc.
We offer a range of sweet to semi-dry to dry wines. Because individual tastes vary so much, with wine there is no right or wrong. You are your own expert when it comes to preference of sweet or dry.
This is our spot of Heaven on earth, and it is our wish that you will join us at 12 Spies Vineyards and enjoy our fine Georgia wines.
